Words we use
- Case - one customer request: a warranty claim, a repair request, a question, a return. Everything about it lives in one place.
- Claim - same thing as a case; the customer-facing word.
- RMA - "Return Merchandise Authorization": the number you give a customer so they can send an item back to you.
- Unit - one physical item a customer owns, usually identified by a serial number, kept in your registry.
- Work order - the repair job created inside a case, for your own workshop or an external repair partner.
- Portal - the customer-facing page where buyers see their products, coverage and claims.
