Payment problems rarely stay inside the payment screen. A customer can be charged while the order remains unpaid, complete checkout but miss the download or membership access, or retry after a slow response and create a duplicate. Each system may look correct on its own while the customer experiences a broken purchase.

Sanestly follows the full transaction: cart rules, checkout validation, provider response, webhook, order state, email, fulfilment and entitlement. We use timestamps and identifiers to establish what happened rather than guessing from the final status. You receive a diagnosis that support staff can understand and developers can act on.

What you may be seeing

Signals that the workflow needs attention

  • Customers report charges without confirmed orders
  • Successful payments do not unlock the purchased service or content
  • Checkout fails only for certain gateways, carts, countries or devices
  • Support staff manually compare the store with the payment dashboard

The useful outcome

What changes after the work

  • A reproducible transaction timeline for each confirmed failure pattern
  • Clear ownership across store, gateway, webhook and downstream access
  • Recovery rules for delayed, duplicated and partially completed transactions
  • Regression checks for the payment paths that matter most

How we approach it

A narrow investigation before a broad implementation

We begin with failed and successful examples, then line up the evidence across browser, store, provider and downstream systems. We check idempotency, signatures, currency and amount handling, asynchronous callbacks, retries, timeout behavior and the rules that translate payment events into business states.

The work is deliberately narrower than a complete site rebuild. If the evidence points to a theme conflict, custom checkout code or a provider limitation, the report says so. Recommendations distinguish an immediate recovery procedure from the durable engineering change needed to prevent repetition.

  1. Collect transaction cases

Compare representative failures with clean purchases using safe identifiers and timestamps.

  2. Rebuild the timeline

Trace validation, provider events, webhooks, order transitions and entitlement delivery.

  3. Test the edge cases

Exercise retry, delay, cancellation, partial refund and duplicate-event behavior on staging.

  4. Define recovery and repair

Document support actions, code changes, regression tests and monitoring signals.

Common questions

Before we start

Can you investigate an intermittent issue?

Yes, if there is enough evidence to correlate cases. We first improve logging when the existing records cannot distinguish a gateway delay from a store-side failure.

Will you need customer payment details?

No card data is required. We use order IDs, provider transaction IDs, timestamps, redacted logs and configuration relevant to the failed flow.

Can you recover old orders?

We can define and, when separately approved, automate recovery for eligible records. No bulk correction is run until the matching and rollback rules are tested.

Start with the evidence

Show us the failure, the systems involved, and what a correct outcome looks like.

We will reply with the first useful diagnostic step and tell you if the work does not fit this service.
